Dr. Kelsey L. Bookmyer

Hi I am Dr. Kelsey Bookmyer and I wanted to let you know about myself. I am originally from New Mexico (Grants, NM). I attended college at New Mexico State University where I received a Bachelor of Science. New Mexico does not have a dental school so that is what prompted my move to Texas! I attended dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry (now part of Texas A & M) and graduated cum laude in 1995. I then began a two year residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, so I guess I’m both an Aggie and a Longhorn. It was there that I met and fell in love with my husband (he was in dental school there as well, and currently practices next door). He did an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Florida. While living in Gainesville, Florida I was fortunate enough to both work in private practice as well as teach part time as a professor at the University of Florida Dental School in the pediatric dentistry department. In 2002 we moved to Round Rock and I began my practice. I am board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and regularly attend continuing education courses. I am an active member of the Capitol Area Pediatric Dentistry Society, the Southwestern Pediatric Dental Society, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. I have been recognized as one of the top dentists in Texas Monthly, which is an award chosen by other Texas dentists, as well as one of America's top dentists by the Consumer Research Council of America. My husband and I have one adorable son named Carson.

Dr. Matt Lucero

Hi my name is Dr. Matt Lucero, but you can call me Dr. Matt. I grew up in Sparks, NV. I attended college at the University of Nevada and then went to dental school in Florida at Nova Southeastern University were I met my wife Sarah. She is currently a PA (Physicians Assistant) at Dell Medical Center. We moved to Texas in 2010 so that I could attend an advanced dental residency at the VA Medical Center in San Antonio. We fell in love with central Texas and made the decision to stay. I worked as a general dentist in Round Rock and Georgetown for 4 years in private practice as well as at a public health clinic where I treated mostly underserved children. Treating children became my passion and I wanted further training to become a specialist in pediatric dentistry. In 2015 Sarah and I moved (temporarily) to Portland, OR for 2 years so I could get specialty training at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Bookmyer has been kind enough to ask me to join her practice upon completion of my residency in July. Taking care of kids is fun and it should be. What other job in the world allows you to talk about cartoons and superheros but also make kids healthier? I am incredibly lucky to do what I do. I am excited to meet you all and come back home.
